Loose Lay

Our loose lay LVP products make quality installation as easy as 1, 2, 3. With all the style and quality that Happy Feet is known for this can be used with or without glue to fit all of your needs.

Best for...

  • DIY Residential Installations: Loose lay flooring is designed for easy installation, making it a good choice for DIY projects. The absence of adhesives or locking systems simplifies the process.
  • Temporary Installations: If you need a flooring solution that can be easily removed and reused, loose lay LVP is a good option. It can be laid down and lifted without damaging the subfloor or the flooring itself.
  • Quick Installations: Loose lay flooring is typically quick to install, making it suitable for projects with tight time constraints or high-traffic areas that need a fast turnaround.
  • Minimal Subfloor Preparation: Loose lay flooring can often be installed over various subfloor types with minimal preparation, as long as the surface is clean, smooth, and even.
  • Flexibility in Design Changes: If you anticipate design changes or want the flexibility to replace individual planks or tiles easily, loose lay flooring allows for quick modifications without the need for extensive work.

Do not use if...

  • Heavy Traffic Commercial Areas: In commercial spaces with heavy foot traffic or rolling loads, loose lay flooring may not be the best option. It doesn't offer the same stability as glue down LVP/LVT, and heavy traffic can potentially lead to movement or excessive wear over time. However, Loose lay flooring can be glued down for better performance in these types of applications.
  • Long-Term Stability: For a more permanent installation with long-term stability, especially in residential areas or spaces with consistent use, other installation methods like glue down or click lock systems may be preferred. That said, any of our Loose Lay flooring options can be glued down to meet this need.

Guides

Install Tips

  • Prepare your base. Make sure your install surface is clean, dry, smooth, and level.
  • Lay your planks.* Start in one corner, lay one plank at a time, staggering as you go, trim with a utility knife. Flooring should be laid directly against walls, fixed with a bead of silicone after installation is completed.
  • Double-check your fit, easily adjust any plank, and that’s it!
  • Enjoy your floors!
* High traffic areas and areas with rolling loads require full spread adhesive installation.
